there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.
he is still alive.
Ray and Cynthia are in many people thoughts and prayers around the globe. WIthout his dear and honest books, many - myself included would either still be in the cult or at least not been able to achieve proper closure.
Strength for Ray and Cynthia in these troublesome times.
one of the mesages emanating from the "new light"rhetoric is that it might be prudent to prepare to die before armageddon.
better to forget about the assurances that "you will never grow old, much less die" in this old system; maybe it's time to enact a macabre plan b and latch onto a cemetary plot and prepaid funerals....

Those who DID choose for higher education in 1969 are now with comfortable retirement. Those who followed the above recommendation are likely still struggling to get by.

last week (i left on 5-17-10) i was sent to juneau to work i took about 5 gb worth of pictures and a few short video clips.
the camera was a nikon coolpix l22, it's a pretty decent little camera.
unfortunately it had a dust spot or two under the lens.
Few Americans know that Janau is the state capitol. Most think Anchorage. Visiting Alaska is my long time dream. I always thought I would visit it in the New System, but guess that's not gonna fly...

a question for all those who managed to do it.
when you realize that it's unrealistic to expect someone in the wt to ever leave, and when you see the damage it does you to keep hoping, and to keep trying to get them out, how do you manage the pain?.
what do you do when you know that someone has spoiled the only life that person will ever have, yet you can't reach to them?.
I selected three JW friends who I viewed as open-minded (1 active, 1 inactive, 1 semi-active) and carefully shared some of my key findings with them. I stated that I was happy to share more with them, if they were open to it. All three declined.
I brought 607 up with an elder and his immediate response was - oh, you mean it is 20 years off. He knew, but still teaches 607 from the platform.
With another elder I brought up the many misquotes and misreprestations in the Creation book and other WT publications. He was well aware of this, regretted it and said that I should leave it to Jehovah to hold them accountable.
These examples (and many more) show me that it is not to difficult for people to "leave the cage", but nearly impossible to get them to "leave the zoo".
Unless asked, I now remain silent. It is just like quiting smoking - you can tell someone how unhealthy it is, but unless they are mentally ready, they will not quit.
not only is there a change in the way the magazines for field service are distributed to publishers.. there's news of a change in distribution of the study issue of the wt.

get them like they get their kms, that is by having their service groups overseer hand deliver them.. another way to exercise control for control's sake and make the sgos busier and feeling more and.
This is a much needed cost saving excercise. Now people only take what they think they can place. The insider version is still distributed the old way.

You would think that they would be happy that their new explaination is getting so much attention. The goal is to preach to the entire earth - what a better way thn through the internet, in this case using YouTube. But no, they claim copyright. Shows to me more damage control, than preaching the good news. CULT!
with the "generation change" and them changing it all the time it would make sence to dump it all togeather.. lets face it ,it can be disproved easly.. they dumped 1975 in a heart beat .. this would buy them all the time they wanted as they would just find another date to start the generation from ie: "the u.n year of peace and sercurty'',1986 i belive or whatever else they could think of.. they could sell it to the r&f as easly as they sold 1975,then dumped it when it did'nt happen .. anyone questioning them would be told they are running ahead of jehovah or lacking faith in his earthly org that feeds us food at the proper time .. what do you think?.
